Computing Notes of !@#$%^&*()

That kinds of sums up TJC's Computing Notes. Filled with useless (ok maybe not useless to some of you guys) examples and random illustrations. Information is stranded all around. Some are not even accurate. Its a mess to organize.

--------------------
Syllabus of H2 Computing - Taken from SEAB website:

Module 1 – Development of Computer Solutions
This module covers the principles, strategies, techniques and tools relating to the formulation of a programming problem and the planning of its solution. The study of these topics is reinforced through practical work.

Module 2 – Programming Concepts
This module covers analytical and computer-programming skills required to use computers for problem solving. Candidates should be able to explain the importance of reliability, clarity and efficiency in software development.

Module 3 – Algorithms and Design
This module covers the principles and techniques of algorithm design and development through the study of standard and advanced algorithms. Practical work will illustrate the importance of adopting a systematic approach to algorithm design and programming.

Module 4 – Data Management
This module covers the principles and standard methods of organising and representing data for storage and processing by computers to suit the needs of applications. The emphasis of this module will be on the concepts, skills and processes necessary when using databases or files in a problem situation or application.

Module 5 – Computer Systems
This module provides a fundamental coverage of the major software and hardware elements of computer systems, as well as a variety of computer applications. Candidates should be able to comment sensibly on any suggested application, the benefits and economic reasons for its use, and its limitations.

--------------------

Looking at the detailed breakdown of each module it is clear that quite a number of things in the notes are out of syllabus (i.e. good for personal knowledge but adds to the mess when organizing condensed notes).. zzz

Just confirmed with Darryl the topics tested this JCT.

straight from the SMS:
lang trans
bnf
os
networking
oop
algo n data structure
app of computing (reading)

well.. somehow that looks shit little.. I kept thinking there's a LOT of things to study.. geez.
Yesterday I started on Computing, condensed "algo n data structure" (which has only 2 pdf notes) and "programming languages" (which includes lang trans and bnf). Today I condensed finish "OS". And I just used our relief teachers' condensed notes for networking. That leaves me with OOP (of which I already have done "inheritance") and the app reading which I won't even touch. Sheesh.. Suddenly the load feels so light. Thanks Darryl.

Anyone want my notes? Free. To lighten your burden.
P.S. Other notes are available too (provided I study them la! You think I mad ar? Make notes for subjects I don't take)

Hey, do you still have notes for H2 computing you would mind sharing? I've finished my A levels and am reading around computer science and other stuff before uni starts

Hi there, could you share your notes please? :) Would be really helpful for me! Thanks in advance :)
