To all CS and action-movie lovers out there,
Sure, its cool to shoot and stuff. You might even imitate characters and run around with guns, hiding behind pillars, etc. But once you get into the army and lug around a weapon (at least 4kg, depending on what kind of weapon you get. But in BMT you are only assigned the SAR21).
You cannot (you're supposed to, just don't get caught):
- drop it
- dirty it
- leave it unattended
- aim at things with your weapon (not even the bird sitting on the ledge)
- cock your weapon unless you're told to do so
- fire unless you're told to do so
You'll soon find that having a weapon is a chore than fun... At least until you get to shoot.

Sorry. Just ranting about the extra load I have to lug around and take care of =\

Hey, BMT finally changed to SAR 21? Haha, it was still M16 during my time 2 years back. Sort of agree that the taking care of your rifle is such a hassle, even worst than taking care of your wife. You still have to guard it WITH YOUR LIFE.
Well, you will know the pain once you go outfield bro. The commanders will start to steal your wife. And kena stolen = say bye bye to weekend book out!
Haha, shooting is fun. But misfiring = confinement (again). so ya, you get your fair share of fun, but just becareful. BMT can be by far the most fun part of your NSF term, going to unit is not that fun afterall.
Enjoy your weekend man!
